After 16+ years, I’ve pivoted from campus to serve the membership in a new capacity. Take a minute to get to know me and why spearheading Collegiate Partnerships at ADVANCE is the perfect fit!

Stepping away from campus was the hardest decision I’ve ever made. Yet, I’m convinced that, now more than ever, administrators are in need of trusted help, and that’s where I step in. My name is Ashley Wechter, former Associate Athletics Director at Wake Forest University and NCAA Employee. My background as a student-athlete, career path from intern to senior administrator, and other professional experiences allow me to better relate and support our clients.

As a former senior administrator, I recognize the hurdles; the inequity across budgets and the “other duties as assigned.” Department leads are tired, yet they’re being forced to evolve in this new era of collegiate sports with NIL, Alston, mental health, the transfer portal, Title IX; you name it, it’s a lot to manage! At ADVANCE, we lift burdens off of administrators and prepare student-athletes for life-long success. NIL is the new vehicle to teach foundational life skills. We’re in an era with ample opportunity but equal risk. Education has to be a priority for everyone, including administrators, coaches, parents, donors and businesses. You don’t know what you don’t know. For years we’ve told those donors and businesses that they can’t talk to a student-athlete or pay them for their name, image or likeness, and now the tables are turned. Student-Athlete Development professionals across the nation now have a real opportunity to teach and be heard!
